Women are not only part of our communities. They are at the heart of them.
In our communities, women are at the centre of everyday life. They raise and nurture families, run businesses, trade in our markets, care for the sick, educate the next generation, hold communities together, and help shape their futures.
Kombra is built on a simple belief: when women have the opportunity to thrive, the strength of that opportunity extends far beyond the individual. It reaches families, communities and generations.
That is why women are at the heart of our work — and why we believe that where women thrive, communities flourish.
About the work
Kombra takes an integrated approach. Progress in one area is often connected to progress in another.
Kombra Foundation works to create a Sierra Leone where women and girls can live with dignity, safety, opportunity and economic independence.
Our work spans economic empowerment, health and WASH, education and skills, legal protection and gender-based violence, and women's financial inclusion. The five sit together because progress in one is usually tied to progress in another.
